Presence over perfection

I studied photojournalism, and it never really left me. What I am looking for on a wedding day is not the pose. It is the way your partner looks at you from across the room, and the squeeze of a parent's hand before they let go of yours.

I grew up overseas, which is probably why I have never been able to sit still for long. I photograph weddings and elopements all over Oregon, from the coast to the Gorge to the high desert, and I will happily get on a plane for the ones that are further out.

Every person carries a story worth preserving, and every love deserves to be celebrated. Everyone is welcome at my table. The couples I photograph tend to stick around afterwards, which is how I end up on holiday card lists and watching families grow up from a distance.

Off the clock it is slow mornings, long conversations, breakfast burritos, an artsy film, and a hike with the dog. I am married to my high school sweetheart, Josiah. Ollie comes on most of the adventures.
